The form below can be used to nominate yourself or others for TMA New York City Chapter Committees. You are encouraged to pick your top three positions in the application. Increasing your involvement with TMA NYC will be very rewarding both professionally and personally.
Please note the following timeline:
10/18/24: Completed nomination forms must be submitted by 5PM ET.
11/01/24: Committee members will be notified of their assignments.
12/10/24: Save the Date: All Committee Meeting will be held in-person to plan for 2025
Please note that your TMA NYC Membership must be in good standing in order to apply and qualify for a committee position. To update/renew your membership in the NYC Chapter, click here.
Committee Member Responsibilities include:
1. Register and attend at least 60% of TMA New York’s events in calendar year 2024, (the Chapter hosts approximately 20 total events).
2. Participate in at least 60% of the conference calls and in-person meetings for your committee.
3. Complete assigned committee work in a professional and timely fashion, (i.e. making calls, sending emails, reading student papers, etc.).
4. Consider the purchase of a 2025 TMA NYC Annual Sponsorship and/or 2025 TMA NYC Golf & Tennis Outing Sponsorship with your firm.
5. Note: Your invitation to remain on this committee in 2025, and potentially beyond, is based largely on fulfilling the responsibilities of a Committee Member listed above.
Please note that while Committee Members do not typically attend TMA NYC Board Meetings, your input will be brought to the Board via your participation on your committee.

Academic Relations Committee: The TMA NYC Academic Relations Committee recognizes outstanding business school student achievements in areas pertaining to bankruptcy, reorganization and/or restructuring and awards cash prizes to those individuals who have presented superior papers related to these areas of interest. The Academic Relations Committee will also on occasion, sponsor an educational panel on a relevant topic of interest to the restructuring classes that are part of the NYU and Columbia MBA programs.
Audit Committee: The TMA NYC Audit Committee is responsible for assisting the Board of Directors in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for the financial reporting process, the system of internal control, and the organization’s process for required reporting.
Golf Committee: The TMA NYC Golf Committee plans and manages the TMA NYC Annual Golf & Tennis Outing, including solicitation of event sponsors and development of ideas to improve the experience.
Governance Committee: The TMA NYC Governance Committee is responsible for the development and oversight of policies and protocols governing the Chapter’s affairs.
Marketing & Communications Committee: The TMA NYC Marketing & Communications Committee is charged with supporting the efforts of the Chapter to build brand awareness and publicize and support the activities of the Chapter and its members. This involves activities such as: communicating with and developing relationships with the media to encourage media coverage of our events and build awareness of TMA NYC; developing content for the TMA NYC website; and supporting the activities of the Membership, Programming, Pro Bono and Sponsorship Committees.
Membership Committee: The TMA NYC Membership Committee is charged with the development of Chapter initiatives to enhance member benefits. The Committee also works to grow the Chapter’s membership by devising initiatives to recruit new members and to encourage current members to renew their memberships.
NextGen Committee: The TMA NYC NexGen Committee represents the next generation of turnaround and corporate renewal professionals and provides networking and educational opportunities tailored to those in the early stages of their career. The NextGen Committee focuses on building and diversifying the overall TMA NYC membership base, providing best in class educational and networking programming, liaising with NextGen committees across the globe to maximize synergies and ensure continuity across the TMA NextGen platform, and creating a platform for young professionals to connect with industry leaders.
Network of Women (NOW) Committee: The TMA NYC NOW Committee is an affinity group created to foster female leadership and networking within the restructuring industry. TMA NYC NOW aims to provide substantive educational programming and networking opportunities for women that help promote career growth. The Committee hosts events throughout the year.
Online Programming Committee: The TMA NYC Online Programming Committee is responsible for planning the events and podcasts hosted online by TMA NYC (approximately 8 annually). A subcommittee of the Programming Committee comprised of approximately 3 – 5 people is formed for the planning of each event. Each member of the Online Programming Committee serves on at least one subcommittee annually. Approximately 10 – 25 hours generally are required for subcommittee members to plan a specific event, and the Online Programming Committee may have additional meetings throughout the year to discuss new event ideas.
Pro Bono Committee: The TMA NYC Pro Bono Committee collaborates with The State of New York, Empire State Development (ESD) to jointly sponsor Speed Mentoring events and works to develop other pro bono initiatives for TMA NYC members.
Programming Committee: The TMA NYC Programming Committee is responsible for planning the events hosted by TMA NYC (approximately 10 annually), except those hosted by the NextGen and Network of Women (NOW) Committees. A subcommittee of the Programming Committee comprised of approximately 3 – 5 people is formed for the planning of each event. Each member of the Programming Committee serves on at least one subcommittee annually. Approximately 10 – 25 hours generally are required for subcommittee members to plan a specific event, and the Programming Committee may have additional meetings throughout the year to discuss new event ideas.
